HEY YOU, GET INTO OUR CLOUD

Cloud Server SolutionsPortalMedia has done both shared and dedicated server hosting in traditional data center environments for years, but with today’s need for quick-launch solutions and highly-scalable solutions (both up and down), we knew it was time to go beyond the bare metal.

What this offers you is the next generation in dedicated server hosting. More scalable, more affordable, with all of the same monitoring, support, and security that we’ve provided with dedicated server co-location, yet you’re not at the disadvantage of being bound to your server hardware as its parts age, or worse, fail. With the cloud, you can scale more easily and cost-effectively, and you can recover faster if needed.

If you’re co-locating your server and you haven’t thought about the cloud yet…you should.

Cloud Highlights

  • Choice of Windows or Linux virtual platforms. Multiple versions of Windows Server, a (very) wide range of Linux distributions.
  • Relational Database services using MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
  • Content delivery network with servers at geographic edge locations.
  • Geographically-dispersed and redundant solutions available for situations where very high availability is needed.
  • All hardware running the virtual servers are hosted in SAS-70 Type II data centers and have been validated as Level 1 service providers in compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS).

What is the cloud?

Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a metered service over the Internet. It takes the software/OS aspect of Internet serving and separates it from the hardware, allowing virtual “servers” to exist on any amount of hardware, located in one or more data centers as needed. Computing resources such as CPU, memory, and storage are allocated to the virtual server from the host hardware in the data center(s)…the sum total of which makes up what we call the “cloud”.

The configuration, launching, scaling, and moving of virtual servers can occur very quickly and cost-effectively, and all access and administration is done remotely over the network.
