Step-By-Step E-mail Software Setup


This setup guide is for:


Mail for Mac OS X 10.2 or 10.3

1.

From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.

Ensure that Accounts is selected from the buttons at the top. Then, in the lower-left corner of the window, click on the plus (+) button to create a new account. Then, for Account Type, select POP.

Under Description, enter in a description for the account. Enter in the E-mail Address given to you by PortalMedia in the next field. Under Full Name, enter your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing e-mail. Enter in mail.portalmedia.com for your Incoming Mail Server. Enter the User Name and Password supplied to you by PortalMedia. Finally, click on the button entitled Server Settings at the bottom.

Enter in mail.portalmedia.com for the Outgoing Mail Server. Next, select MD5 Challenge-Response for the Authentication type. Beneath it, enter in the same User Name and Password that you did in the previous step. Click on OK to close this window, and then close the preferences window, saving the new account information when prompted.

You're done!
