Adjusting Your Spam Filter Settings

All customers who have a mailbox hosted with us enjoy the protection of spam, virus, and phishing protection. Each user has the ability to adjust his or her filtering threshold, whitelist and blacklist, quarantine, and notification settings. Below is a primer on how to make adjustments to these settings. Your spam filter settings are located in the Customer WebMail.

Note: The default spam filter setting for customers is Medium High, with the mail quarantine enabled and e-mail report sent on weekdays.

1.

Log in to the Customer WebMail using your e-mail address and mailbox password.

2.

Once logged in, click on Options to access your mailbox options.

3.

In the Options screen, click on the Spam Filtering link.

The Spam Options Screen:

Whitelist and Blacklist

This section of the screen is where you can add or remove entries from your whitelist or blacklist.
Whitelist: a list of sender e-mail addresses or domains that will bypass the filter.
Blacklist: sender e-mail addresses or domains who will always be caught by the filter.

Mail Filtering Preferences

Preset and optional custom levels for your spam filter threshold. Enable/disable filtering, set levels that either tag messages and/or prevent them from ever reaching your inbox. Set custom score thresholds, if none of the low-to-high preset options fit your needs.

Full descriptions of the options are listed in this section.

Quarantine and E-mail Report Options

Optionally set blocked messages to be quarantined (so that you can review them later), and set an option to receive an e-mail report of messages in your quarantine.
