“The cobler’s children have no shoes.”
If you’re not already familiar with that famous saying, it implies that the cobbler is so busy with work that he (or she) neglects to take care of business at home. In our case, I’m referring to our own web site. I’m happy to say, however, that we’ve given it a long-sought refresh, and we’ve also updated it to reflect the current services we provide, which in an IT world is a palette that is ever-changing. We invite you to take a stroll through the new web site and read about what we offer and what we’re doing for our clients.
Some fun facts about the new web site:
- It’s using WordPress. We’ve developed a custom template and applied the infrastructure for the WordPress content management system to it, which allows us easy editing without having to fire up our developer tools every time we want to make content changes. Clients always ask us about ease of site editing. This is a great way to do it, and yes, you can still have a custom-designed web site that fits your branding. Not only that, but we even integrated our own Customer Portal with it (pulling information from our home-grown CRM software), for the best of both worlds.
- It has a mobile version. You can look at this site from your smartphone, or simply take your browser window and squish it narrow width-wise, and see the mobile template get applied on-the-fly. It’s a trick we learned to give smaller web sites a mobile look and feel, without always needing to create and maintain two separate sites.
- We’ve gone social. For notices related to our Internet hosting network, we’ve now moved to Twitter to make all broadcasts. If you wish to have a live status of our systems, please be sure to follow us there. Also, in case you haven’t noticed already, we have a Facebook page. We’ve been very quiet about it so far, but given that you’re here and reading this, if you happen to like us, then please…..like us! Any announcements we make in this blog will also be cross-posted on our Facebook page. As the cobbler always remains busy, we’re certain that we won’t be taking up too much of your news feed.
